Maintenance Fitter

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Fitter for our client, an award winning meat & smallgoods manufacturer.

Our client is a market leading manufacturer of meat and smallgoods. Very highly recognised for their ability to deliver a high quality and first class product. We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Fitter with electrical experience who is resilient, and very much a people person to work in a very supportive and friendly environment. 


As a Maintenance Fitter you will be:

  • Responsible for Adjustments, Repairs & Set up of Machines
  • Solve technical Problems
  • Maintain the production equipment to ensure it is running effective & efficiently
  • Preventative maintenance & Breakdown work
  • Ensure Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and cleaning sanitation standards are suitably managed around working areas
  • Report all quality related issues to Manager
  • Liaise with contractors for refrigeration, electrical and continuous improvement projects
  • Management of the waste treatment plant
  • Manage and maintain building repairs and surrounds
  • Read and record information from computers for time and temperature to validate correct functioning of equipment and systems within the factory
  • Manage maintenance of 2 vehicles mechanically and their refrigeration systems (liaise with contractors)


In order to be considered you will have:

  • Relevant Trade Qualifications as Maintenance Fitter or Electrical Fitter
  • Electrical knowledge an advantage
  • Experience in sensors an advantage
  • Exceptional fault-finding skills
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Forklift licence (desirable) 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • An understanding of the need for the highest level of cleanliness and hygiene in the workplace
  • Experience with a similar food manufacturing environment or FMCG
  • Computer and technical skills to read and record information
  • Ability to recognise potential risks/hazards 
  • Physically fit to fulfil duties
  • A positive and caring attitude towards customers/clients
