Electrical/ Maintenance Fitter

Experienced and trade qualified Fitter to join a steel manufacturing company for maintenance and machinist work.

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Electrical or Maintenance Fitter for long term work in the Erskine Park area. This role will be working with our client, BlueScope Steel in a Production and Warehousing environment. 

 

Responsibilities

    • Machine operating 80% 
    • Fitter: Scheduled maintenance work on plant machinery 20%
    • Utilise your technical skills relating to the repair and maintenance aspects of plant and equipment on site;
    • Following all safety procedures, policies and practices;
    • Improve equipment performance and reliability by thoroughly understanding plant and equipment condition and then implementing corrective actions to restore as required;
    • Liaising with operators and other maintenance team members, pertaining to plant reliability and improvements;
    • Complete all aspects of the role, including planning, SSW, isolations, mechanical tasks and follow-up; and
    • Undertake troubleshooting and problem/root cause analysis, reporting and rectification.

 

Requirements

    • Must be a trade qualified fitter or have a mechanical qualification
    • TIG/MIG Welding skills
    • Experience in welding and metal fabrication.
    • Experience with heavy equipment mechanical repairs and maintenance
    • Excellent Communication Skills (English reading and writing)
    • Exceptional Teamwork skills
    • Experience in manufacturing industry.
    • Dedicated to maintaining and promoting safe work practices (be highly safety conscious) 
    • Strong commitment to meeting business needs
    • Must have full working rights in Australia (Citizenship or Permanent Resident)
