Our client offers one of the most comprehensive ladder and specialty components ranges in Australia and New Zealand with decades of experience in design and manufacturing.

This newly created standalone role will focus on expanding market presence primarily in the Melbourne area whilst also maintaining existing customer relationships within a sizable portfolio. You will be supported by and collaborate remotely with key departments, including the marketing team, to identify opportunities for growth and to develop strategies to take advantage of those opportunities. You will ensure that customer needs are met, and company products and services are effectively promoted.

A large portion of your time will be on the road visiting new and prospective clients, and while the Melbourne area will be your prime focus, you will also be travelling across key client sites in Victoria as required. The successful candidate will have a proven record of accomplishment in sales and will be able to work remotely and independently.

The Role

  • Identify potential customers and secure new business opportunities.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to implement strategies for business growth.
  • Build and maintain client relationships including reactivating dormant clients
  • Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities in the market.
  • Develop and deliver presentations and proposals to potential customers.
  • Negotiate and close sales deals, ensuring that all terms and conditions are met.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets and provide regular reports on progress towards targets.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that customer needs are met, and that the company’s products and services are effectively promoted.
  • Conduct onsite product assessments to ensure that products meet customer requirements, safety, and quality standards
  • Visit supplier stores and attend trade events to generate interest and sales
  • Warranty support and resolution 

To be considered, you will possess:

  • Proven experience in Sales or Area Management ideally in Trade Product Sales
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and rapport building skillset
  • Ability to work independently, with strong self-motivation and time management 
  • Analytical and strategic mindset 
  • Solutions based approach to customer service
  • Knowledge of the trade market and industry trends
  • Proficiency in the use of CRM software 
  • Driver licence and willingness to travel within your assigned territory
  • Unrestricted working rights in Australia

Location: Dandenong South VIC 3175

Salary: $80,000 – $110,000k + superannuation + company vehicle

Hours of Work: Flexible full-time hours Monday to Friday
